Introducing ‘Tuesday Front Page’ with Dave Finlayson on 94.7 The Pulse

We are thrilled to announce the launch of 94.7 The Pulse’s newest show, ‘Tuesday Front Page,’ broadcasting every Tuesday morning from 9am – 11am.

This exciting new program is presented by Dave Finlayson, a multi-talented former journalist whose passion for storytelling and community engagement promises to bring a fresh and dynamic perspective to our airwaves.

‘Tuesday Front Page’ is set to be a captivating blend of ‘news and views,’ highlighting the rich tapestry of life across the Geelong region. Dave, who has a deep-rooted passion for local communities, aims to shine a spotlight on a different town within the area each week. “Local communities are the grassroots of our region,” Dave explains. “What’s happening in those communities matters, and giving them a voice is an important role of The Pulse.”

In his inaugural episode, Dave welcomed six guests, setting a high standard for the show. His goal is to feature at least five guests weekly, offering listeners personal insights and diverse perspectives on the ‘news and views’ within each town. From discussions on pickleball to media trends, Dave’s show promises to cover a broad spectrum of topics relevant to all listeners.

Dave brings a wealth of experience to 94.7 The Pulse. Originally from Horsham, he has lived in Geelong twice and has now chosen to retire in this beautiful region. His background includes extensive work as a print journalist and in public relations and communications across both public and private sectors. Having spent significant time in Canberra, Dave is well-versed in the intricacies of media and communication.

Although Dave is new to radio, his enthusiasm for the medium is palpable. He’s long been intrigued by radio’s unique ability to connect with audiences. “I’ve always been interested in radio,” Dave shares. “I think it’s a great communication medium. Although I’ve never had the opportunity to be involved in radio before, I’ve been engaged in content production and interviews. This is a chance to try something new and exciting.”

Dave’s first ever job application as a young adult was to ABC Radio, where he made it to the final two candidates but ultimately didn’t secure the position. Now, after a long journey through print journalism and communications, he’s thrilled to return to radio in a full-circle moment.
