A team of presenters brings you interesting and enjoyable music, much of it not available on Australian radio, along with associated stories, humour, background chat and musings to promote your enjoyment and appreciation. Above all, it’s an entertaining hour.
The show offers music from all eras and puts it in context: historically, geographically and personally. In particular, we aim to increase your understanding of the people who make the music. Our tastes are broad, but we do like listenable music - there's something in this program for all jazz fans.

JOHN THOMPSON Earliest jazz memories: Hearing Hoagy Carmichael records on the radio when I was 5. Seeing Papa Celestin’s band in the film Cinerama Holiday and hearing Chris. Barber’s ‘Whistling Rufus’ on the B.B.C. that same year, 1955. Favourite jazz performers:Trombonist and singer Jack Teagarden and Furry Lewis the country bluesman.
