SWEETHEARTS OF YESTERDAY is a two hour trip down memory lane. Music from a bye-gone era when music was properly written and orchestrated with no electronic or digital manipulation. The music ranges from the 1920s to the 1960s (with an occasional song outside these years depending on its suitability). Most of the songs are the original recordings of the era and many have the authentic scratches and surface noise you would expect to find on records that have been much loved and played over and over. In keeping with the fact that I’m an old “Fuddy Duddy”, the Sweethearts program has NO Social media links at all (It NEVER WILL ) and it is not available for podcasts. Unfortunately, as almost all of the artists on my playlists are no longer with us, I don’t have interviews with artists as I can’t talk to dead people (wish I could). Sweethearts is the only program that you’ll hear so many of them on. With over 3,000 songs on my playlist library and adding to them on a regular basis, I’m sure to have something that will bring back musical memories for you. Why not join me on our musical journey down memory lane each week every Sunday morning at 6.00 am I know you’ll enjoy it. <iframe src="https://omny.fm/shows/sweethearts-of-yesterday/playlists/podcast/embed?style=cover" width="100%" height="500" frameborder="0" title="Sweethearts of Yesterday"></iframe>

The ENCORE program is two hours of classical music… on the lighter side. It’s a thoughtfully curated selection of music including favourites, a few rarities, famous artists, rising stars, historical recordings and many Australian performances. You’ll enjoy a range of shortish pieces of music – orchestral, chamber, solo, operatic, choral, sacred, and much more. We always give details of local performances and, at times, interview members of local music groups and visiting artists. Encore provides the perfect soundtrack to your Sunday morning. Jazz On The Pulse & That’s Jazz Sundays fortnightly 11am – 1pm, alternating with That’s Jazz Jazz On The Pulse and That’s Jazz are fortnightly music programs that present lively and interesting jazz, specialising in music performed by current musicians. You’ll hear trad, straightahead, mainstream, manouche, progressive and other genres of jazz. You’ll hear big bands, small groups, solo performers and many singers. We showcase music from Australia and give you the chance to hear musicians you might not otherwise be aware of. We present music by musicians from Geelong and the Surf Coast whenever we can. But we also give you the opportunity to hear music from musicians who live in other countries, and not just the United States! Europe is a great breeding ground for jazz and we enjoy listening to many current musicians from there. Ross Williamson presents Jazz On The Pulse. He’s a keen jazz fan and has presented jazz shows on The Pulse since 1994. George Krupinski presents That’s Jazz. He’s another keen jazz fan and he began on The Pulse in 2021, after stints with WYN FM and Inner FM. Requests and comments are welcome at thepulsejazz@gmail.com On The Pulse you can hear jazz three times a week: Mondays 10pm – midnight, Tuesdays 3am – 4am and Sundays 11am – 4pm with a bunch of experienced presenters who love what they do. Many of them are musicians you may have heard around Geelong: others are long-time jazz fans. You can also listen to those programs whenever you like using our on-demand stream available on this page! The Geelong Jazz Club is a business subscriber and long-time supporter of our programs. <iframe src="https://omny.fm/shows/jazz-on-the-pulse-that-s-jazz-alternating-fortni/playlists/podcast/embed?style=cover" width="100%" height="500" frameborder="0" title="Jazz on The Pulse & That's Jazz (alternating fortnightly)"></iframe>

Each week, James Vernon presents two hours of long-form classical music, whether it be a symphony, chamber music, solo, vocal or anything in between. Longer works that play for more than two hours (usually operas) are presented on successive weeks. James has many musical passions, of which classical is only one. He aims to make the listening more interesting by researching the history of the work and presenting a concise introduction, enabling you to listen to the work in its historical context <iframe src="https://omny.fm/shows/concert-hall/playlists/podcast/embed?style=cover" width="100%" height="500" frameborder="0" title="Concert Hall"></iframe>
