Sweethearts of Yesterday is based on a program broadcast on Geelong's original radio station 3GL hosted by David Coburn in the 1960's. Sadly David and 3GL are no longer with us, but the music lives on.
Tune in at 6.00am every Sunday morning to hear such artists as Al Bowlly, Denny Dennis, Fred Astaire, Vera Lynn, Bing Crosby, George Formby, Doris Day, Rudy Vallee, Joseph Schmidt, Sam Brown, Flanagan & Allen, John Charles Thomas, Peter Dawson, The Andrews Sisters, the list is almost endless and don't forget the bands....Henry Hall, Roy Fox, Jack Hylton, Guy Lombardo's Royal Canadians, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Ray Noble, Harry Roy, The International Novelty Quartet and MANY, MANY MORE.
Enjoy music from the golden days of radio and the war years when music helped people keep their sanity during a very dark time in the world's history.
Get the old feet tapping whilst you sit back and enjoy a cuppa as the memories come flooding back.
Because of many requests, I have also included a weekly feature 'Songs of Praise' where I play a popular Hymn presented by some magnificent choirs.
All of this in only two short hours.
Please join me each Sunday morning at 6.00. If you'd like to phone me you are very welcome 52225 947 is the studio number.
