Ever wanted to get into Radio?
94.7 The Pulse is holding an 8 week introductory broadcasting course, perfect for beginners wanting to get a start in radio who have no previous experience. The course is non-accredited but follows the current National Training Industry Units of Competency, thus allowing for participants to gain accreditation in the future.
Each weekly session is two and half hours in duration and is held on a Saturday afternoon between 2-4:30pm at the Pulse studios. More time will be required between sessions to practice studio operations and other homework.
At the end of this course you should have the skills and knowledge to plan, produce and present a radio program. Upon completion each participant of the course is able to contact the Station Manager about volunteering at the station. This may lead to an on-air or production role in Community radio.
The course units are as follows:
- Introduction to Community Radio & the Pulse
- Media Law
- Studio Operation
- Scripting for Radio
- Presenting Programs
- Interview Techniques
- Review and Assessment
The coursed is conducted by a fully qualified trainer and broadcaster, currently working with the Pulse producing and presenting their own program.
